Ancel is a food, weight, and health tracking app operated by Wonderboy Creative ("Ancel", "we", "us"). This policy explains exactly what information the Ancel app and this website collect, how it is used, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to match what the app actually does — nothing more, nothing less.
1. Information we collect

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. There are no ads and no third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
2. How we use your information
- To provide the app: logging, nutrition analysis, dashboards, trends, suggestions, routines, and the reminders you turn on.
- To operate AI features: identify foods from photos, labels, text, and voice transcripts, and estimate nutrition.
- To send transactional email (for example, password reset). If we introduce optional marketing email, it will be opt-in and off by default, with an unsubscribe link in every message — we will never send marketing email you did not ask for.
- To keep the service healthy: aggregate usage statistics, cost management (including your plan's monthly AI allowance), and abuse prevention.
3. Who your data is shared with
We do not sell your data, share it with data brokers, or use it for third-party advertising. Data leaves our systems only to service providers that make specific features work, and only to the minimum extent needed:

If you subscribe to Ancel Premium through an app store, the purchase is handled entirely by Apple or Google. We never see or store your payment card details; we receive only confirmation that the subscription is active.
4. Where data is stored and how it's protected
Your data is stored in a database on servers we control, hosted with DigitalOcean. All traffic between the app and our servers is encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. Access to production systems is restricted to Wonderboy Creative.
5. Retention, export, and deletion
- Retention: your data is kept for as long as your account exists, so your history and trends keep working.
- Export: you can download a complete copy of your data at any time in the app: Settings → Account → Export data.
- Deletion: you can permanently delete your account and every associated record in the app: Settings → Account → Delete account (password-confirmed, immediate, irreversible). You can also request deletion without the app — see our Account & Data Deletion page or email jc@wonderboycreative.com from your account email.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in Europe or the CCPA/CPRA in California), you may have rights to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data. Ancel's in-app export and delete tools satisfy most of these directly; for anything else, email us and we will respond within 30 days. We do not "sell" or "share" personal information as those terms are defined in the CCPA/CPRA, and we honor deletion regardless of jurisdiction.
7. Children
Ancel is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page, revise the effective date, and — for significant changes — notify you in the app or by email.
