These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Wonderboy Creative ("Ancel", "we", "us") covering your use of the Ancel mobile app and website. By creating an account or using Ancel, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. What Ancel is — and is not
Ancel is a food, weight, and health tracking tool. It uses AI to estimate nutrition from photos, text, and voice descriptions, and it charts the data you log.
Medical disclaimer. Ancel is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nutrition figures are estimates and can be wrong. Medication features (such as GLP-1 dose reminders) are convenience reminders only — they are not a substitute for your prescriber's instructions. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before making decisions about diet, weight loss, or medication. Never disregard professional medical advice because of something Ancel showed you. If you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your country) to use Ancel.
- Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity on your account.
- Provide accurate account information and keep it current.
3. Free plan and AI usage limits
Ancel's core logging features are free. AI-powered analysis (photo, label, text, and voice recognition) is metered: the standard allowance is 150 AI analyses per calendar month. A failed analysis does not count against your allowance. We may adjust allowances prospectively; we will communicate material changes in the app.
4. Ancel Premium (subscription)
- Ancel may offer an optional premium subscription ("Ancel Premium") at US $59.99 per year (local pricing may vary), purchased through the app store on your device (currently Apple's App Store In-App Purchase).
- Billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled by the app store, not by us. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period — manage or cancel in your App Store subscription settings.
- Refunds for app-store purchases follow the store's refund process (for Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com). We cannot issue refunds for purchases billed by Apple or Google.
- Where the app is distributed without an in-app purchase option (for example on Google Play at launch), premium features may be unavailable or provided at our discretion.
- Deleting your account does not automatically cancel an app-store subscription — cancel it in your store settings.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) probe, disrupt, or overload the service; (b) attempt to access other users' data; (c) reverse engineer the app except where the law permits; (d) use automated tools to bulk-submit AI requests or circumvent usage limits; (e) use Ancel for anything unlawful.
6. Your content
You own the data you log. You grant us the limited license needed to store and process it solely to operate Ancel for you (including sending your submitted photos and descriptions to our AI provider for analysis, as described in the Privacy Policy). You can export or permanently delete all of your data at any time in Settings → Account.
7. Our content
The Ancel app, name, logo, and design are owned by Wonderboy Creative. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on your devices. Nutrition reference data includes content from USDA FoodData Central (public domain) and Open Food Facts (Open Database License).
8. Service changes and availability
We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. We aim for high availability but the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy of nutrition estimates.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Wonderboy Creative will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, health outcomes, or lost profits, arising from your use of Ancel. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of US $50 or the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
10. Termination
You can stop using Ancel and delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account, or see Account & Data Deletion). We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms; where reasonable, we will warn you first.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Washington, unless the consumer-protection law where you live gives you the right to proceed locally.
12. Changes to these Terms
If we make material changes, we will update this page, revise the effective date, and notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Ancel after changes take effect means you accept them.
